FAQ / Queries about CBFS

1. Who can apply?
· Fresh Graduates / Post Graduates or its equivalent from a recognized university with 55% marks or above.
· Clearance of an aptitude test and personal interview.
· Candidates born on or after 1st April 1982.

2. What is course duration?
CBFS is a full-time one-month programme consisting of 3 weeks of classroom training on Banking Concepts and 1 week of Core banking Application (Finacle) Training.

3. What if candidate has secured < 55% of marks?
Candidates on the verge of the cut-off marks, with at the most 1% relaxation can be considered for the programme.

4. What if the age of the candidate is prior to 01/04/1982?
Candidates born 6 months prior to the above set date can apply for the programme.

5. Do you have the prospectus / contents of the course?

6. What is pattern of question paper?
The written exam will be of 90 minutes duration consisting of 120 questions. It consists of 3 sections namely verbal, quantitative and logical reasoning. You can view our sample question paper uploaded on the website.

7. What type of job is offered by the bank?
The candidates will be placed with CBOP as officer trainees in operational area.

8. What will be the exam timings?
The exam will start at 11:00 AM on 12th August 2007. All candidates are requested to reach the venue latest by 10:40 AM.

9. What if Web page does not open?
Sometimes changes are being made on the website and at that time website may not get displayed. If it happens it will be for couple of minutes, so we request users to visit again.

10. Duration of the course is very short as compared to other institutions.
Our course is customised according to the bank’s requirement and we believe more in practical teaching rather than theoretical. The course duration has been decided by senior bankers having more than 30 years of experience.

11. If not selected or not successfully completed the course whether the fees are refundable?
Job comfort letters will be issued before hand on the first day of the course to all the short-listed candidates, so there is negligible chance of no one being selected.

12. Whether the job is transferable to other region?
This will be as per bank’s HR policies.

13. Is there any ready study material for the exam?
The sample test uploaded on our website will give a good idea about exam and reference material.

14. Whether the job is guaranteed?
The short-listed candidates will be issued a Job Comfort Letter prior to the commencement of the course and after successful completion of course candidates will join the bank as an officer trainee.

15. Whether the Hall Ticket / Roll No. will be provided for the exam?
The receipt provided for submission of the Application Form will be the Hall Ticket for the exam.

16. Please specify / elaborate on Conditions apply (which is published in advt) is there any kind of a bond to be signed.
No bond has to be signed. The conditions apply states that discretion for department and place of posting lies with CBoP.

17. What the training course includes?
The training programme includes Banking Laws, General Banking Concepts $ Practices and core banking training (Finacle) Training. This programme in cooperates all qualities that a banker must have.

18. Whether the forms along with the DD are to be couriered to Mumbai?
Yes, the forms can be couriered to our Head Office at Mumbai.

19. Candidates from distant places are also appearing for exam / shown interest in our course hence suitable timings may be fixed for exams.
Consideration has been made for candidates appearing from distant places and hence the timings of the exam has been kept at 11:00 A.M.

20. Is there any other exam during / at the end of the course?
Every week there will be an evaluation or project to test the candidates.

21. What is the nature of the job? What is the job profile?
The job profile will be that of Officer trainee mainly in branch operations.

22. When course fees are to be paid?
Course fees have to be paid in advance before commencement of the programme. Date for the same will be announced after selection process.

23. How the course will be conducted?
There will be lectures, presentations, live demos, visit by prominent bankers, projects and assignments to make it more interactive.

24. Any particular books to be referred?
Material for the course will be handed over on the first day of the programme.

25. “I’ve completed Diploma in Banking & Financial Mgmt. Whether I get exemption from the course?”
Placement will be provided only to those who successfully complete our course.
